About FIRST LEGO League
Founding sponsor LEGO provides FIRST LEGO League (FLL) to introduce robotics through an exciting, hands-on educational experience. FLL welcomes students ages 4 to 14 to compete in real-life challenges and problem-solving experiences with teammates, coaches and mentors to build better futures together. Individuals are inspired through critical thinking and experimentation in coding and design skills.
FLL offers three different divisions: FIRST LEGO League Discover, FIRST LEGO League Explore and FIRST LEGO League Experience. Each division is designed to help students progress as a JRA member to advance their problem solving and communication skills.
FLL Discover welcomes students ages 4 to 6 to ignite curiosity in an introductory playful STEM program by completing hands-on activities using LEGO DUPLO Bricks.
FLL Explore welcomes students ages 6 to 10 to focus on the fundamentals of engineering to create unique solutions made with LEGO Bricks that are powered by LEGO Education WeDo 2.0.
Finally, FLL Challenge combines the aspects of Discover and Explore, including problem-solving, coding and engineering, to engage students in building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the mission of a competition game.
